Requirements

 

Age: Typically, candidates must be at least 18 years old.

 

Basic Maritime Certification: STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping) Basic Safety Training. ENG1 Medical Certificate (or equivalent) to ensure fitness for sea duty.

 

Experience: Previous experience in a maritime environment is preferred but not always required. Familiarity with basic seamanship and safety practices is advantageous.

 

Skills:Ability to work well in a team and take direction from senior officers. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn. Basic knowledge of navigation and safety equipment is a plus.

 

Physical Fitness:Good physical condition to perform manual labor and endure long hours on deck.

 

Availability:Willingness to work on a rotational schedule, often spending extended periods at sea.
